Dickinson Wright adds Yuri Chumak as partner
Dickinson Wright LLP has added Yuri Chumak as partner, following the merger of his practice, Chumak & Co. LLP, with Dickinson Wright’s Toronto office.
As a patent and trademark agent registered in both Canada and the U.S., Chumak has helped clients in the clearance, prosecution and enforcement of patents, trademarks, designs, copyrights and other intellectual property rights.
“He has extensive experience in complex trial and appellate advocacy, intellectual property applications and agreements, technology licensing, and privacy matters,” said the news release from Dickinson Wright’s website. “He is also engaged in domain name, advertising and marketing, and trade secret matters.”
He belongs to a number of organizations, including the Canadian Bar Association, the Toronto Intellectual Property Group, the Toronto Computer Lawyers Group, as well as the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, of which he is a fellow.
According to his LinkedIn page, his work in the field of intellectual property law has been highlighted by publications such as Lexpert and IAM Patent 1000. Chumak & Co. was also recognized as one of the top ten IP boutiques in Canada by Canadian Lawyer.
