Tim Wilbur is the Global Managing Editor – Law at Key Media, where he leads the editorial strategy for Canadian Lawyer, Lexpert, Law Times, Australasian Lawyer, and NZ Lawyer. A licensed lawyer in Ontario and a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, he brings more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of law and journalism to his role overseeing some of Canada's most-read legal media brands.
Wilbur hosts the CL Talk podcast, where he interviews leading lawyers, general counsel, and legal executives on the issues shaping the Canadian legal profession. He also writes regularly for Lexpert InHouse, profiling in-house counsel across industries on matters of corporate strategy, risk, and legal leadership.
His editorial coverage spans all areas of Canadian law, including legal industry trends, corporate and commercial law, law firm management, legal technology, access to justice, and public policy. He oversees content for Key Media's flagship legal events, including the Canadian Law Awards and Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers 40 and Under, and has chaired and emceed leading legal events across Canada.
He began his legal career articling at Lerners LLP in Toronto before transitioning into legal journalism. He has held senior editorial roles at Thomson Reuters, LexisNexis Canada, and across the Key Media legal portfolio since 2005.
His work has been recognized with a Tabbie Award, an APEX Grand Award for Writing, and Silver awards from the KRW and CBM Awards for Best Feature Article – Professional.
Wilbur holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and an Honours B.A. in Philosophy and Human Rights from McMaster University.
