She is a senior partner in the firm's national financial services group
Miller Thomson LLP has announced the election of Nora Osbaldeston, a Toronto-based senior partner in the firm’s national financial services group, as Multilaw’s Americas regional chair, which will also make her part of the global network’s management committee.
Multilaw’s election recently took place at its annual global meeting in New Delhi, India, according to a news release from Miller Thomson. At Multilaw, Osbaldeston joined the board in 2016 and acted as chair of the finance committee.
“In today’s world, this role carries significant responsibility,” Osbaldeston said in the news release. “I am honoured to represent an organization that advances collaboration among firms across continents.”
“She brings the expertise and stature needed to perform this role with distinction,” added Enzo Di Iorio, Miller Thomson’s chair. “It feels like a natural next step in Nora’s career, and we’re proud to see her bring that same dedication to the international stage.”
Multilaw has more than 90 member firms in 100 countries. According to the firm's news release, member firms collaborate to help clients pursue international opportunities and offer cross-border assistance that considers the unique business, legal, and cultural nuances of every local market.

At Miller Thomson, Osbaldeston has held numerous leadership positions, including Ontario regional managing partner, the Toronto and Vaughan offices’ managing partner, the financial services group’s national specialty lead, and a national executive committee member, according to her biography on the firm’s website.
“My experience leading regional and national teams at Miller Thomson equips me to bring a strategic perspective to this role, further supporting our clients and colleagues globally,” Osbaldeston said.
Per her firm bio, with experience spanning multiple industries and sectors, Osbaldeston has advised domestic and foreign financial institutions and corporate borrowers on various domestic and international syndicated and bilateral financings.
“Over the years at Miller Thomson, Nora has consistently demonstrated a strong ability to guide and engage with our people and our clients,” Di Iorio said in the firm’s news release.
Her firm bio shares that Lexpert has recognized her as a leading lawyer in banking and finance and conferred upon her the Lexpert Zenith Award. She joined the Ontario bar in 1990.
Beyond the legal realm, Osbaldeston has served as a board member of RFA Bank and a founding member of Swim Drink Fish Canada, a grassroots charitable organization dedicated to promoting swimmable, drinkable, and fishable bodies of water in local communities.
She earned her LLB from the University of Windsor in 1988 and her BA (honours) from Western University in 1985.
