She will sit on the firm’s AI steering committee, working with various practice groups in the new role
Borden Ladner Gervais LLP has tapped Laura Levine to spearhead its strategic approach to innovation, artificial intelligence, and technology-enabled legal services in the new role of innovation and AI partner.
Levine will sit on the firm’s AI steering committee. She will collaborate with lawyers in different practice groups to develop responsible AI-drive solutions; she will also work with business services teams to progress BLG’s AI adoption, knowledge management, legal technology, and new service delivery models.
She pitches in on the firm’s AI governance framework, overseeing the ethical and secure adoption of technology and ensuring that adoption is aligned with regulatory compliance and client expectations. She will report directly to national managing partner and CEO David Di Paolo.

Her engagement across the firm and her track record of driving innovation from within her active securities law practice make Laura the ideal leader for this mandate,” Di Paolo said in a statement.
Levine has been with BLG since 2022, heading up innovation and knowledge efforts in the firm’s national securities and capital markets group. She has guided issuers, boards and market participants.
She has advised on matters involving securities regulation, disclosure obligations, corporate governance, and capital markets transactions. She served as counsel to Guardian Capital Group Limited on its $1.67 billion go-private transaction with Desjardins Global Asset Management Inc.
In 2024, Levine was recognized among Lexpert’s Rising Stars for that year. She will continue her practice in BLG’s corporate and capital markets group while taking on her new responsibilities.
