Corporate lawyer Michael Rosenbloom has returned to Canada as Aird & Berlis LLP’s new partner after a stint in New York.
He joins the firm’s corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and venture finance groups, working from Toronto. He brings experience working in the technology, fintech, e-commerce, retail and consumer products, and mining sectors.
Rosenbloom has tackled M&A, strategic investments, venture financings and divestitures, and equity capital markets transactions, including SPAC IPOs and PIPEs. He has also advised on contract negotiation, governance considerations, and ongoing business matters.
He has handled matters emerging at all stages of business growth, having guided emerging and venture-backed businesses and established private and public entities. He started his legal career as an associate in Bennett Jones LLP’s corporate group.
Rosenbloom then transitioned to a corporate lawyer role at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, according to LinkedIn. Subsequently, he departed Canada to take up a senior managing associate post at Dentons in New York – a role he held for over four years.
He is part of the Ontario Bar Association and the New York State Bar.
Wesley Graham also joined Aird & Berlis as an associate in the corporate, M&A, and Indigenous practice groups. He focuses on mid-market M&A transactions.
He has advised private companies, founders, and investors on buy-side and sell-side transactions, minority investments, and partial or full exits. He has been involved in structuring, due diligence, negotiation, and closing.
Graham has supported corporate reorganizations and growth initiatives like acquisitions, joint ventures, investment structures and governance frameworks. He has worked with Indigenous economic development corporations and community-owned entities.
He was previously with Miller Titerle + Company as an M&A and corporate lawyer. He also spent over six years at STBB in Cape Town, where he was a senior associate lawyer.
Graham was on the South African Legal Practice Council and obtained his LLB from the University of South Africa. He pursed his LLM in constitutional and administrative law at the University of Cape Town and secured his LLM in common law from the Allard School of Law.
He is admitted to the British Columbia Bar and the South Africa Bar. He will work from Aird & Berlis’ Vancouver office.
