    No need to go to Europe. Early last summer the AGO had a fantastic 'Early Renaissance' show with probably 25 paintings that need to be in your book, no question. Also, a couple of illustrated copies of Dante's Divine comedy from 1322, which the many Italians in attendance could read quite easily.
