On behalf of 622 homeless men and women memorialized at the Church of Holy Trinity, Trinity Square, I do here by recommend Honourable Mukhtiar Dahiya, Street lawyer's name for Law Society Medal and Lincoln Alexander Award 2012 for his out standing service and devotion to the cause of homeless people who shunned by the law society died in the streets of Toronto.
Mr. Dahiya's long-standing commitment to community awareness/welfare/service through City Law Centre, street lectures, LawTimes comments and articles in local media to expose institutionalis ed corruption and his struggle with Law Society administration forcing them to start respecting constitutional rights of every citizen is commendable which has added value to the legal profession.
I hope hon. members and benchers will join me to recommend his name to the LSUC for his decorations well earned.
